Badrinath City Guide
Situated in the Indian State of Uttarakhand, Badrinath is one of the most sacred towns for Hindus. It is one of the most famous Hindu pilgrimage centres. It is the most important of four destinations in India’s Chardham Pilgrimage. It is a very popular retreat with the towering Neelkanth Peak in the background. For ancient times, this holy town has been a sacred ground of many saints and sages who came here looking for Moksha (salvation).
The holy town of Badrinath has a lot to offer in terms of tourism especially for pilgrims. The Badrinath Temple and the Badrikasharam are major centres of attraction in Badrinath. Tapt Kund (Hot water pool), Surya Kund, etc are also attractions of the town. This city also attracts nature lovers as well as pilgrims. The surrounding of the town is scenic and provides great treat for visitors’ eyes. Tourists can make excursions to various nearby places like Vyas Gufa, Bhim Pul, Ganesh Cave, Vasundhara Falls and Panchprayag namely Nandaprayag, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Vishnuprayag.

Badrinath Temple:
The temple is the main attraction of the city. The temple houses a black stone statue of Lord Badrinarayan (manifestation of Lord Vishnu) made of Saligarm Stone. The temple is architecturally beautiful with a large pillared hall, mandapa, intricate carvings, stone façade and carved windows.

Badrikasharam, Tapt Kund (Hot Water Pool), Surya Kund, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhim Pul, Vasundhara Falls, Panchprayag, etc.

By Air:
Badrinath has not airport. The nearest airport to access Badrinath is Dehradun Airport. Dehradun is connected by flights with major cities of North India.

By Rail:
Nearest Railheads are Rishikesh (300 KM), Haridwar (310 KM), and Kotdwar (330 KM).
By Road:
Badrinath is located in the remote Garhwal Himalayas. Badrinath is connected by roads with Rishikesh, Dehradun, Joshimath, etc.
