Leh is a beautiful city located Ladakh in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is the gateway to some of spectacular excursions in Ladakh. It is the administrative centre of Ladakh and often described as the capital of Ladakh region. Places of Tourist Interest :
Leh Palace:
It is the most important landmark in the city. It was residence of Ladakh’s royal family. This is the 9 storey building and still looks marvelous and offers a panoramic view of Leh city.
Shanti Stupa:
It one of the modern religious monuments in Leh. It was built by Japanese Buddhist order in the year of 1985. The stupa is white colored and decorated with traditional Buddhist frescos and paintings.
Polo Ground:
It is located at very short distance fro Leh Main Market. It is highest polo ground in the world. Ladakh’s’ DC Office is located next to Polo Ground. Permits to restricted areas of Ladakh are obtained from DC Office by application.

Monasteries or Gompas:
Spituk Monastery, Sankar Gompa, Soma Gompa, Shey Gompla, Thiksey Gompa, Hemis Gompa, Phyang Monastery, Chemrey Monastery.
Activities to Enjoy:
Trekking, Mountaineering, Ice Chader Trek (Frozen River Trek), Cycling, Biking, Jeep Safari, Yak Safari, River Rafting, etc.
Shopping: While in Leh - Ladakh, you must enjoy shopping. It will be definitely a good experience. Here tourists can shop for exquisite Tibetan handicrafts, Tibetan antiques, Ladakhi handicrafts, Kashmiri shawls, etc.

By Air:
Leh Airport in Ladakh is well connected by daily flights from Delhi and Chandigarh.
By Road:
The Manali Leh Road serves as the main roads to reach in Ladakh.
By Rail:
The nearest Rail Head is to reach in Leh is Jammu 620 km from Leh. Jammu is connected to all parts of India through express trains.
